Rachel Parlier '15 Recruiting Profile

Besides my love for soccer and abilities as a skilled player, academics are also very important to me, by evidence of my 4.5 GPA, based on a 4.0 high school system.  I have been a high school starting varsity player since my freshman year and that same year we won a league championship.  During last year’s junior soccer season, as the team captain, I help lead my team to another league championship.  I have also played on numerous other soccer teams, yearly since I was five years old.

I have been a very successful varsity midfielder, a leading team scorer, along with being a dependable team player.  My ball handling skills are excellent and I always work to maintain and improve upon those abilities.  I try to lead by example and encourage other players through positive sportsmanship.

I am a leader off the soccer field too and have been actively involved in my high school Associated Student Body (ASB).  I was Freshman Class President, Sophomore Vice President, ASB Vice President and will serve as the ASB President during my senior year.  I am a school “Link Crew” member which is an upper class mentoring program that guides incoming freshman students to help establish their initial success within high school.

I know that I could be a very valuable college or university soccer player, while also being a collegiate academic leader.  Besides the honors that I have received for my athletic abilities, I have also received numerous student honors and awards from being a HOBY candidate, Certificate of Recognition for Student Government, Congressional Award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement, and Ford Dimension Candidate.  I believe that my work ethic, interpersonal skills, and drive to achieve will allow me to bring a friendly, but determined mindset for success both on and off the soccer field.  I am hoping for a school that can challenge both my soccer and academic abilities.
