Since the age of of seven I have been playing competitive soccer. I was asked to take on the role of goalkeeper and I immediately fell in love with the position. Being in goal gives me a sense of comfort and I feel that is where I truly belong. Most people will never understand the feeling of adrenaline I get when I throw myself at a player’s feet or shut down what was supposed to be the winning goal. My dream has always been to play at the next level. Being able to play at the college level would make me feel a sense of accomplishment and as if all my sacrifices, training, and hard work have brought me closer to achieving my goals.
I feel that because of my competitive nature, determination, and work ethic I will be an asset to any team I am a part of. I am not afraid to work hard on and off the field and I have always been excited for opportunities to grow as a player and to learn new things. The goalkeeper position is not an easy task, it requires a lot physically and mentally. I feel that my love for the game and my drive to always be the best will be a benefit playing at the college level. I am continuing to work on my strengths and weaknesses through training so that when I join a college program I will have more of an impact with the team.
I want to be a part of a program that will benefit me both academically and athletically. I plan to study Sports Medicine in hopes of becoming an Athletic Trainer. I am looking for a school that will provide me with an opportunity to succeed in both soccer and my career.
