No matter how stressful or overwhelming other aspects of my life have become, I’ve always had one constant to keep me sane — soccer. Playing the game is second nature, the mind-set it puts me in being a familiar and welcome place. I don't have to think too hard when I’m out there on the field — years of experience and learning have trained me to know what to do in most situations, no matter the position. My usual positions are offensive (center and wide forward), but in high school I’ve stepped up the past three years to be goalie, defensive mid, and center back, and I’ve come to be commended as a respectable player in these positions. Of course, I’m not the perfect player, but I’m always looking to be taught how to improve in every way I can by learning from both my coach and my peers. I put hours of training in during the week, both with my team and one-on-one. Having been captain on multiple teams the past few years, I know how much dedication, on and off the field, being a good player and a good teammate takes. I plan to pursue my passions and double major in History and Classical studies with a minor in English, and I’m aiming for a career in the educational or research fields. To be able to grow both mentally and physically as a student and player, all while having the comradery of a team and the outlet of soccer, during my college years is very important to me, and I can promise to give you my best effort if I was on your team.
