My goal is to go to a four-year university and pursue a degree in law. As a first-generation college student, I understand that there will be challenges along the way, however with determination and hard work I know I can accomplish my goals. In and out of the sport I manage to show leadership, sportsmanship, and perseverance, even when things aren't going as planned.
In the field what sets me apart from others is that I'm a team player; an example is in my recent AYSO season we lost our goalie and we had a game that Saturday. Since no one on the team played goalie I volunteered to learn and play the position for the better of the team until the coach could fill the position again.
One example of sportsmanship I can share is that during a tournament a lot of tension built up between the two teams and the respect was being disregarded later into the game. While the two teams were being disrespectful I was trying to keep things together and keep my team in check by encouraging positivity and respect for the other team.
Growing up I've had a fondness for English and that's due to my grandma teaching me since I could speak. Over the years my writing has advanced to the point where now I can write at a college level. This will help my career later since I know how to write assertive claims and form strong arguments.
