My name is Kinsey McIntosh and I found the love of my life at 4 years of age, when my Dad laced up my first pair of soccer cleats! In that first game, while many of the other kids were slow to understand the object of the game, I knew exactly what to do! As if it was an instinct I was born with, I dribbled the ball up and down the field towards the goal. The fact that everyone, on both teams, were chasing after me, was thrilling, but once I scored that first goal, I was forever hooked!
Since then, I have played every position on the field, fitting in where needed most based on that team’s composition. I've been told that I play with high focus, intensity, and heart as a forward on my competitive soccer team. In recent years I have also played center back, defending the 18 against the opponents most skilled strikers. In addition to that, the endurance I've developed as a cross country runner, and Varsity track competitor has lent itself well to playing midfield from time to time.
As a Junior, I'm in my third year serving as captain of my High School team. It's been an honor to be recognized as All League Offensive Player of the Year in 2019/2020 and 2021. I also was selected by the North Sequioa League coaches to play in our Regional All Star game, as a sophomore.
Irregardless of the position or team I am playing for, I give 100% each and every minute I’m on the field. Due to my versatility, I am able to see the game from every angle. I think this has made me a smarter player.
It has been my goal from the beginning, to have fun playing my sport, to find opportunities to develop my technical skills and to grow into the best teammate, leader, and person that I can be. Inspite of already devoting years to this goal, I know that I have so much more to learn and believe that there is still much untapped ability in me when it comes to soccer. That is precisely why I am looking forward to playing at the college level with a team that will help me continue to grow on the field, one that has the room for me to play the game I love, and has both respected athletic and academic programs.
