Hello, my name is Melina Mantell, a 2026 graduate of West Park High School. I am currently a sophomore, and I am a starter for our Junior Varsity team for both Freshman and Sophomore year. I played mostly as a defensive mid-fielder, but they had me play as an offensive mid-fielder as well for both High Schools seasons, and for both years I got pulled up to Varsity for a few games, and as a Freshman, I got to play as a starter for our Varsity State Play Off game.
I currently play for the Blues Soccer club, and I have literally played every position on the field including goalie. I have been playing soccer for over 9 years now, and I love every aspect of the game. Not only the physicality of it, but the technical and strategic element of it as well. I've really developed my "soccer sense" and love when I can read the game play and intercept passes and turn them into a strategic attack for our team. While I am very versatile and can play wherever you want me to, I prefer playing as a midfielder as it gives me the space to be creative and utilize my team's strengths to our advantage on the field. My main position for the Blues is as a defensive mid-fielder.
I truly love soccer and would love to play on a collegiate level. Thank you for your consideration!
