My name is Sydney Duran and I graduate in the class of 2016. I am 5'6 1/2" and 135 lbs while currently playing for Slammers Futbol Club as a central midfielder. In addition, I play centerback on the Valencia High School varsity team. Playing soccer since the age of four hasn't taught me how to be a good athlete. It has taught me to find a passion that affects every aspect of my life. My goal is to not only play for a successful school, but to be able to play with girls that share my same passion for this sport. I've been captain for several of the teams I've played for, including the club and high school ones I'm currently on, and it's taught me more than just a little bit of patience and responsibility. Being a leader encourages me to play to the best of my ability at all times and urges me to strive for higher levels of soccer. I am not a 30 goal per season striker, but my greatest strength is being a play maker and having great vision of the field. Working hard isn't even a question for me because without a doubt my dedication to this sport is something no one can find elsewhere. Sports are extremely important to me, but school will always come first and I do not take education lightly. I have an overall GPA of 3.67 and will have taken 6 AP classes by the time I graduate. I would love to play anywhere with a great academic system, and a beautiful soccer field.
