Skyler McNamara '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches,

My name is Skyler McNamara, and I am a HS Junior from Valley Center, CA. Valley Center is a small town in North San Diego County. I have a 3.75 GPA, and I am enrolled in both AP and Honors level courses. My goal is to be a student athlete at a 4-year university where I can study either Business, Communications or Exercise Science while representing my university playing the game I love!

Alex Morgan stated, "Keep working even when no one is watching," and that is exactly what I do to reach my goal. I not only work hard at practice, but I also put in the extra hours at home working to perfect my technical skills. Specifically, as a center forward, I concentrate during training on making the proper runs both on and off ball to get behind the backline; collecting the ball with balance; techniques to win 1v1s, and being a target and powerful striker who can win the ball in the 18-yard box and finish. 

I play club soccer for San Diego Soccer Club – Surf (SDSC Surf).  I play on our club's 06 Girls Academy (GA) team. My club coach is Raffi Ruotolo, and if you asked Coach Raffi about my character, I expect he would say I am: Coachable, Dynamic, Strong, Respectful, Hard Working, Dedicated, a Team Player, Highly Competitive, Passionate and able to read the Game!

For HS, I am 3yr Varsity player and Scholar Athlete.  This season (Junior year), I was named to the 1st Team in my conference and my HS Coach selected me as the team's Offensive Player of the Year. Besides soccer, I run Varsity Track and play Field Hockey.  I am also a active member of my high school's Associated Student Body.
