I started playing competitive soccer in 7th grade, much later than the other girls around me. Because of this, I had to rely solely on my dedication, hard work, and love for the sport in order to be able to compete with those girls. I started out with the simple, very attainable goal to join a club team. I did this and played in the bronze bracket for 2 seasons. This was where I realized soccer was something I wanted to get serious about and decided l wanted to compete at the highest level possible. In order to reach that goal, I spent hours upon hours at a nearby park either playing pick up games, working with a private trainer, running, or just doing drills on my own. This hard work without a doubt paid off as here I am today, playing at the second highest level. Achieving far fetched goals and being driven enough to go that extra mile is a trait I take pride in, and I look forward to bringing to my future college team.
This transfers to my academics as well. Thus far in my academic career, I have challenged myself with numerous honors/ AP classes and made an effort to get involved with my school in any way possible. This year, I put a lot of time into our yearbook club and helping out the current president. Our teacher recently announced me yearbook president for next year, my senior year. Our school is known to have exemplary yearbooks each year. This being said, I know it's a huge responsibility, but I am excited to hopefully surpass their expectations.
My dream college soccer environment is one where I am challenged each practice and game, physically and mentally. From experience, I know that is how I improve most effectively. I also hope to continue soccer after college, so I am looking for a program that helps their players reach goals like these.
