Hi, my name is Kylie Garcia. I started playing soccer when I was seven years old, and started playing for my first club team three years later. I currently play soccer for Eagles Soccer Club as a center midfielder on the U17 EGSL soccer team. I'm fifteen years old and a sophomore at Ventura High School. During my freshman year, I played on varsity as an attacking center midfielder and this season, I played center mid or stopper. I was voted 1st Team All League for the CIF SS Division 4 Channel League. Through my club and high school experience, I have learned many things about myself as a player. One of these things is that I am a natural leader. I've been told by multiple different people that my teammates really look up to me and that my positive energy inspires them to work just as hard as I do. This is because I always give 150% in everything that I do whether it's on or off the field, and when things get difficult, I don't just give up. I keep on working until I eventually reach my goal, and I believe that when my team sees me doing this, it inspires them to be the same way. I also feel that I am the same way about my academics. I am also a hard worker as a student and I enjoy challenging myself. I take mostly honors classes and try to maintain straight A's in all of them. Even though I am constantly having to balance between my schoolwork, practices, and other activities outside of class, I am still very committed to all of them.
Overall, I feel that soccer is something I am very good at and it has always been the biggest passion of mine. This is why it has always been my goal to play soccer in college. My ultimate goal is to receive a great education, while being able to play the sport that I love as well. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about myself. I hope to find a college that is a great fit for me athletically and academically.
