I’ve always been a very serious, and maybe even hard, person. However, this is not without reason. As someone who is constantly setting goals for themself, whether it be for school, soccer, or one of my two businesses I’ve been running since I started highschool, I understand the importance of hard work, self motivation, and, as odd as it may sound, creativity. In addition to my more traditional expressions of creativity such as crocheting, knitting, sewing, and reworking second hand clothing, I also find ways to utilize my creativity while on the field. I listen to and absorb feedback I get from different coaches to figure out how to better my game. I watch all types of soccer from the pickup games that happen at the elementary school field down the street from my house to the Women’s Euros and watch the different choices the players make on the field. I record myself playing almost every game and watch myself play right after the game as well as a few days later so that I have multiple perspectives to compare. Doing all of these things help to creatively problem solve and figure out what I need to focus on, how I can best get to the next level of play, and how I can best be a leader to my teammates on and off the field. If given the opportunity to play soccer in college, I am confident I will bring my creative, problem solving mindset and more.
