Personal Statement

My name is Skylar Haase class of 2023 and I currently play for Broomfield Prestige 05G (Broomfield, Colorado) as a starting center midfielder, the #8 position. This season for my league games I have scored 9 goals and 9 assists so far.  I also have been invited to the US Training Center for the past 3 years. I am a 5'11 sophomore at Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colo.

My desired major is Elementary Education because I really enjoy working with kids, helping others, and making a difference in others lives.  My dream is to play D1 soccer and make a difference on the field. I would say my biggest strength as a player is my work effort, technical ability, athleticism, and constant desire to improve and win. My dad taught me a lot about hard work and what it takes to be a successful player, as he was lucky enough to play in the NFL.

 Highlights about my soccer include:

  • US Training Center player for the past 3 years
  • Starting Midfielder for both Club and Varsity High School
  • 2018 Colorado State Cup Champion- Captain of State Championship team
  • Freshman year Varsity High School Soccer- 1 of only 2 freshmen who made the Varsity Team
  • Academic All-State First Team- Rocky Mountain HS Soccer
  • 2019/2020 played on a 2003 National League team- Only 2005 player playing 2 years up (starting midfielder)
  • National League Player for past 2 years- Top 3 leading scorer for my team
  • ODP - 2005 age group - Regional Player
  • CHAMP student-athlete award winner 2018

Highlights about my academics include:

  • 4.0 GPA
  • Student Body Officer for Student Council at my High School
  • Honor Roll every quarter
  • Multi-Sport Athlete on JV Basketball (leading scorer)
  • Involved in many clubs at school: FCCLA, Fellowship Christian Athletes, Connection's Club, and Unified Basketball
  • Volunteer for Good Samaritan (helping the elderly)- past 2 years
