Beginning my Junior year in High School, becoming a student-athlete has become more of a reality for me. My parents have always had the biggest influence on me since a very young age, they have taught me nothing but perseverance, kindness and positivity when it comes to building a mindset. This has definitely shaped me as a person and who I am today, there is not a moment that goes by when I don't think "would my parents be proud of me?". When I first became interested in soccer I was only five years old, I grew up watching my older cousins play soccer and since then I have wanted nothing more than to be on the field. Soccer has shaped me in a way that I can take everything I have learned from teammates, a coach or simply a camp and apply it to life and my education. Soccer is a way for me to express my passion and love for the game but it also allows me to get away from stress at school or simply, stress in general. By playing soccer Ive learned that I have more leadership that I ever thought I had, I have also learned that everyone has the capability to accomplish something great, but for me accomplishing something great happens through hard work, leadership and overall love and passion.
My academic goals for high school consist of graduating with a 3.6 GPA and having solid ACT and SAT test scores. My academic goals for college consist of graduating with at LEAST my bachelors degree and successfully passing my classes.
There have been many obstacles in my life that Ive had to overcome, but one that has truly shaped me into the person/athlete I am today is when I moved soccer clubs for the very first time and made a team where the coach began to think I wasn't a "good enough" player for the team. This was something that definitely made an impact on the player I am today. There is not a game or practice that goes by where I don't think about what I could be doing better or how could I improve. This obstacle also shaped me as a student and a person in general, it constantly makes me think of how I could improve myself and my effort. Some unique skills I possess would definitely be my ability to learn quickly and adapt to new team settings. Another unique quality I have on and off the field would be my ability to start conversation and interact with new people.
