Makayla Newcom '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Makayla Newcom. I am 17 years old and am currently a junior at Woodland Park High School in Woodland Park, Colorado. I've been playing soccer since I was 5 years old and I've loved it every step of the way.  I've had the opportunity to learn and play soccer at 8,465 feet above sea level. Unfortunately my freshman year of soccer was cancelled because of COVID but I made good use of that time by having my meniscus repaired and I'm happy to say I'm fully recovered! I'm so excited to play collegiate level soccer! As a potential college athlete, I aspire to be a team player and strive to encourage my teammates on and off the field.  In high school my goal is to graduate summa cum laude and continue my successful soccer career.  My goal in college is to play soccer and fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse. One thing that is unique about me is that I don’t have any social media  which allows me to focus on my academics and athletics. This sets me apart from my peers in a major way. When I put my mind to something I will achieve my goal and do it to the very best of my abilities and that's a guarantee.  I'm excited for my opportunity to play soccer and can't wait to get in touch with you about it! Note: I am unable to finish my 2022 Spring soccer season due to a torn ACL.
