Olivia De León '28 Recruiting Profile

Hello! I am Olivia De Leon, Class of 2028 and I am a Freshman at Notre Dame Prep in Fairfield, CT. A few things to know about me as a person, I enjoy the process of improving at things- soccer included. I love being part of a team as well as developing as an individual. I tend to naturally end up in leadership roles in school, but I am working hard at being a more vocal leader, especially on the field as a CB or in other defensive roles. Playing soccer in college is one of my goals, as not only do I love the sport, I appreciate the structure and purpose it adds to my time. My freshman HS season was a challenging and great experience, as a Freshman I clocked the most minutes played and was 2nd Team All Conference. I continued to gain confidence throughout the season and find my voice. We had a successful season of 16-5-1 (losing in the CIAC Class LL quarter finals). The combination of work ethic, coachability and soccer ability allowed me to earn the trust of my new coaches and teammates, and I was one of two freshmen to be a Varsity starter.  As a starting freshman center back I learned to be a more vocal leader on the field which strengthened my leadership throughout the season, I felt my confidence grow as the season progressed and I am excited to take this confidence back to my club team (Chelsea Piers Soccer Club- Nice 09, NAL Champions 2024).  One of the biggest contributors to my success to my high school season was my focus on conditioning and technical work the summer prior. This was work I did on my own to develop and ready myself for the season ahead.. Academically I have a 4.2 GPA in High Honors classes at Notre Dame Prep, and am very active in the school community as well as sing at school and in my church choir. I am at the very beginning of this college exploration but I hope that this statement helps you get a glimpse of who I am on and off the field!
