Ever since I was young, soccer has had a great impact on my life. I started playing when I was 5 on a traditional REC team here in Farmington CT. I fell in love with the sport, and it made me the person I am today. My leadership and self direction has been developed because of soccer. I don't think I'd be half the person I am today without soccer.
Soccer has made me a stronger person not just physically, but mentally as well. My coaches have always pushed me to be the best, and one coach in particular implemented skills into my life that I can transfer from the field to my daily life. He built me to be mentally tougher, and because of that I'm able to take things with a grain of salt and not let the little things in life effect me.
Off the field, I strive to balance a healthy lifestyle as well as a student-athlete lifestyle. I have always enjoyed school and have always been someone who enjoys learning. My self direction in the classroom allows me to maintain high grades and keep up with the workload school has thrown at me. Since middle school I have taken Honors classes in order to push myself as a student, and I'm taking two AP classes alongside Honors classes as a Junior. By balancing this lifestyle I have created good work habits that allow me to get work done before soccer practices, so while at soccer my only focus is becoming a better player rather than thinking about the assignment that's due the next day.
On the field, all of my previous and current coaches have identified me as a coachable, motivated, and consistent player. I have played on many teams at various levels. Starting off, I played for Farmington Travel (2013-2018) and there I learned the basics about soccer; while playing at a high level with a coach who was technical and set high expectations for all players on the team. On this team I was a CM and developed my leadership skills from playing this position. I then went to FSA ECNL my Freshman year of high school, and played at the highest level there is as a DM and CB. I made Varsity as a Freshman for my High School team and started playing CB. Another achievement I have from high school soccer is playing the whole Class L State Final game my Freshman year, and scoring one of the winning PK's in the Semi Final game of the Class L state tournament my Freshman year as well. Currently, I am playing for CFC Valley at a high level allowing me to play quality soccer with a quality coach (2019-present). In the future I strive to play at a DII or DIII collegiate level, and achieve my life goals of working in Pediatric Care or as a Physicians Assistant.
I have been rewarded for all of the hard work and dedication I put into my academics as well as soccer. This year (2020) I earned the All-Conference award for soccer alongside an Academic Achievement award. My Freshman and Sophomore year I have also received this Academic Award for my grades. I have also been inducted in the, National Honors Society, Spanish Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and I am a Peer Leader at my high school. I strive to achieve more academic awards as my Junior year continues and into my Senior year as well.
