Soccer is the one sport that stuck with me after trying all different kinds of sports. All it took was one class and cones. I was only five, which is young, but the strive was there. It’s some sort of feeling that, you know when you know. You can’t really describe it. My parents have always been the ones to encourage me through the good and bad. But what they have always told me is to do what I want to do. Good grades have always been a goal for me. I knew it would be important for me when I go to college. I would even need to miss practice with so much work from school, but in the end it paid off. But during all that I learned how to manage my time as a student athlete. I always saw myself as a leader. I was captain for my town team, which I enjoyed. I’m not that cliche captain who bosses everyone around and tells them what to do. What I saw myself as is encouraging my teammates and always having a connection with each teammate. I've been through physical and emotional moments in my soccer years. Through all my years in soccer, I learned to be more positive and proactive. Soccer gave me confidence. When I play its the only thing I think of. I forget about school and other things that stress me. During tryouts for my high school team, my freshmen year, I sprained my ligament in my ankle. Which wasn’t what I was expecting for my first year of high school. I went to physical therapy for a while. My physical therapist did whatever she could do to help me. I recovered faster than I thought I ever would because of her. So majoring in sports medicine/physical therapy is something I definitely want to study. I want to do what she did for me for athlete.
