Falling in love allows for a lot of different emotions to shine. Soccer does just that to me. I have been playing since I was 3 and have been in love with the sport since then. Soccer has taught me many different lessons not only in the game but as a person that I have brought through with me in my life. It also have tested me mentally, emotionally, and physically from playing but the minor setbacks have only made me stronger in all aspects. Growing up, soccer wasn’t something I saw myself doing but as I progressed and understood the game, I couldn’t see my life without it. I have made many sacrifices just to play soccer that I don’t regret any.
On the field, I strive to be the best. I always push myself to be better than I was the last time. I often get that my determination, my work ethic and attitude is what grabs the attention of many different people. And although I am small, I don’t back down from a challenge. My coaches also mention I am coachable and a leader. Whether I am working on the field on my skills or at home getting stronger, I always want to be better. Not only do I want to be better on the field but in the classroom. My academic career is just as important. I push myself to always learn something new. Being a student athlete, it forces me to be able to balance good grades and still perform on the field which I have managed very well, with my grades speaking for itself.
I want to be a part of a program that not only fit my athletic needs but academically. Soccer is something very important to me but isn’t the only factor in my decision making on a school. I believe hard work is key and I will continue to work hard academically and athletically to show the determination and strive I have as a player and student and why I am a good candidate for schools.
