My goal is to continue my soccer career into college and compete at the highest level possible. I am an extremely hard working person who values grit and hard work over everything else. I have had many setbacks in my soccer career; such as not making my high school’s varsity soccer team two years in a row. Instead of letting this obstacle get the best of me, I decided to work all summer to get better. Almost everyday I went to strength training and worked on my technical skills. Eventually this hard work payed off, and in the fall I made varsity and was a starter for the majority of our games.
This experience has been highly valuable to me because it has shaped my character. I now highly value hard work and grit because to me, that is how you achieve your goals and respond to setbacks. Although I was not enthusiastic about being on junior varsity, I still made sure I was the hardest working player and set a good example for my teammates as one of the captains. Therefore, no matter what institution I end up attending, I can guarantee I will work my hardest to be the best player and teammate.
