- As a student-athlete I understand the demands and responsibility it takes to try and find balance in my life. My personal experience as a student athlete has taught me how to balance time for school, work, and socially. Attending Canterbury School (Fort Myers, FL), a well-respected prep school, has been an important experience because the workload and demands are similar to what I should expect when I attend a college course. Balancing the demanding workload of Canterbury with a busy soccer schedule during Club and High School season has improved my time-management and organization skills, completing school work with quality and on time so I could fully concentrate on my athletic time during practices and games.
My family has raised me to be respectful, humble, and open-minded. These characteristics, along with my soccer abilities, has made me a player coaches can confidently communicate with and want to work with. I am aware of my soccer and athletic abilities, but I also understand I still have room for improvement and I hope to do so during my time in high school and in college.
I am ambitious to play beyond the collegiate level. I am passionate about soccer; watching, talking, and playing it. Giving all my efforts towards being a better athlete comes naturally, I do not need to be reminded or forced to work during practices or games. Attending college alone is important goal to me from an academic standpoint, but I have realized that the women's "college game" is an important platform to reach the professional level. I am reminded of this from close people to me who have played and coached at the college and professional level.
My overall goal is to be at a college/university that will create a learning environment to achieve my academic goals, as well as have an athletic sports culture I can be proud to represent during my time there and after.
