Personal Statement

Hi, I’m Sofia Chapman and I have been playing soccer since I was 4. I really enjoy both my club and high school teams. I’ve built several friendships over the years with my teammates. I’ve played many positions over the years but my favorite is goalkeeper. I have learned so many aspects of the game and feel I am very well rounded in soccer. I have a great eye for the ball and very quick reflexes. I have been the keeper with my club for the past 5 years and I joined the West Florida Flames DPL in 2023. I am the starting keeper in high school and I love it. I can really take charge in the goal and direct my defense. I get a ton of experience and I am really looking forward to playing keeper in college. I am a straight-A student and I am looking for a college that will meet both my academic and athletic needs.

U14 Strictly girls played 2 games played against Abby Wambach’s step daughter’s team from Naples. I had 2 game saving saves in the 1st game and in the final had an amazing save in regulation. Game went to PKs and I had another save and won the tournament. All while Abby Wambach watched. She approached my parents after the game and told them “Your daughter Sofia is an amazing goalie.”
