I'd like to take a minute to give you some information about myself. My name is Makenzie Burton but I prefer to be called Mak. I attend Vero Beach High School in Vero Beach, Fl and carry a 4.42 weighted GPA in the AP program. I am a member of the National Honor Society and I am in the top 10% of my class out of 787 students.
I was a USSF Training Center/ID 2 camp attendee in '11 & '12. I was selected for the ODP Region III Team in "14 and for the Thanksgiving Inter-Regional ODP Event, Boca Raton, FL. I was selected to the Region IIII player pool in "14 and I have been an ODP state team in '10, '11, '12, '13 & '14 and have been a Region III camp attendee in '11, '12, ('13 injured) & '14. I attended a US Club PDP Camp (Player Development Program) in '14 and I was recently selected for the prestigious Puma Women's Elite Showcase in 2014. As a freshman in High School I was a Florida High School Coach's First Team All State Class 5A player for the 2012-2013 season and I was named to Scripp's Treasure Coast First Team All Area as well. I decided not to play high school soccer after my freshman year so I could concentrate on my academics and my club team.
My club team is Space Coast United Elite 97/98 girls. We are a Florida State Cup Final Four team in '13 and US Club Florida State Finalists in '13. We have played in the top brackets in many elite tournaments such as WAGS, CASL, Disney Showcase, Jefferson Cup and PDA. My club stats for the current season which include the tournaments listed above are currently 26 goals and 14 assists with a record of 26-10-5.
My goals for college soccer are simple; to start and be an impact player on the team all four years while receiving a great education. As far as achieving this goal I believe I am on the right track. You may contact any of my coaches, previous or current, and they will tell you I put countless and tireless hours into lifting, running, and ball-work on my own outside of scheduled practices. During my college career and after I will make a positive influence in the community, both on and off the field.
Thank you for your time,
Mak #18
