2023 HighlightsPersonal Statement
My name is Nelia Dailey and I am a senior at Eastside High school in Covington Georgia. As long as I can remember I have always had a ball on my feet. My dad has played soccer his entire life and I guess my love for soccer has come from his love. He is from Costa Rica and our house has always been filled with the game of Futbol. I guess I can say my love for the game is in my blood. I am the the middle child and I have a older and younger sister. My younger sister plays soccer as well. I live with my parents and younger sister. My older sister is married and lives near us. My grandparents live near as well and they are our biggest fans. They try to attend every game. We are a true soccer family.
My position is a true #9. I am a striker! Center forward, I can also play left and right wing, but center is where I flourish. When I am on the field I am focused on what I need to do in order to assist my team to accomplish our goals. I am fast and good at reading the plays to know when I start my run. I am a team player and I am eager to learn new ways of playing.
When you first meet me I am shy, it might take me a little bit to open up. My mom says I get my shyness honestly. She said she was shy growing up. I am a really good friend and I care about people feelings and wellbeing. I am I good student, I make sure that my homework is completed on time. My grades are very good. I am a A/B student. When I do something I put my all into completing it.
Many people have asked me what I want to study or do when I grow up. I long as I can remember it has just been to play soccer. Playing soccer is where I feel the freest, I feel like anything is possible. I can be myself and help me team make it happen. I guess that is why I have not picked a major yet, I am undecided. I would like to play soccer in college and find my way while attending.
