Growing up I had always tried the typical sports for girls like cheerleading, gymnastics, and ballet while playing soccer. I was never really a girly girl so the only sport that stuck was soccer. Ever since I started playing at the age of 5 it has always been soccer. Growing up underweight and short up until recent years, everyone looked down on me on the field even though I never got knocked down. As I grew taller and started to gain weight my problem came to be my feet with ball control. I started not making the teams I wanted to make and got frustrated because it felt like nothing was working even though I was doing the bare minimum. One day I put my foot down and decided I was going to fix what needed to be fixed. Every year since then I've trained harder and harder to make the teams I want to make. I work hard, listen to the coach's advice to make the little things cleaner, and take whatever comes at me on the field. Soccer not only has allowed me to become a better person through lessons on and off the field but is always improving my soccer IQ. As a woman with a goal in life, in soccer, and in school would be a great asset to your team.
