My name is Kaylie Hayes and I am currently a sophomore at Erskine College. I have entered the transfer portal to continue my dream of playing college soccer. My desire is to find a program that can use my experience and positive, hardworking attitude. I have enjoyed my time at Erskine College and my experience with the Flying Fleet Women's Soccer program. I was proud to earn the starting keeper position as a freshman. I played 818 minutes my freshman season, until a thumb sprain sidelined me. I started 9 of the 10 games I played in 2021. My total saves on the season was 32. Total shots seen was 119. My game season high shots seen was 28 and saves was 6.
In our 2022 season, I again was proud to be named Erskine's starting keeper. I played in 12 games and started 9. Total minutes played was 843. Total shots seen was 186. Total saves was 69. Season high shots faced in a single game was 35. Season high shots saved in a single game was 14. My major is Sports Management.
I graduated from Oconee County High School in 2021 where I was the starting keeper for our team that advanced to the Final Four. I played club soccer for Oconee Futbol Club and enjoyed 6 winning seasons where we promoted each season.
I enjoy the intensity and commitment that the collegiate level of play requires. I want to continue to surround myself with teammates who have that same drive and are goal driven so we can support each other along the way. I have enjoyed the friendships and bonds that I have made on the teams that I was fortunate to be a part of.
I look forward to practice. I put in a lot of effort to make sure every practice is better than the last, even on the tough days. I know that you can’t expect to get better just by practicing. I know that it is important for me to work on my skills and my position outside of team practice. I am very coachable, and am willing to learn new skills or to isolate and focus on the ones that I have yet to master. I also know that there has to be just as much work done off the field as is done in goal. I enjoy working in the weight room for team and individual lifts as well as taking the time to study and break down game film.
I understand the importance of a college education and know that my focus in the classroom is just as important as my dedication and focus on the field. I have a positive attitude and outlook for everything I approach. I put just as much effort in to my grades as I do to my efforts on the field. Good grades are very important to me. I understand that playing in college is an amazing opportunity and privilege, but I also know that getting an education is just as important.
