Personal Statement

I am currently enrolled at Mililani High School, in Hawai'i on the island of O'ahu. I've played soccer since I was five. Ever since I moved to club ball, it has been a dream for me to play college ball. I look to female college and professional athletes as an inspiration. Living in Hawa'i makes it hard for me to gain exposure to mainland coaches. However, my family and I do our best to make our best efforts to play in tournaments and ID camps off-island. Ultimately I would like to attend school and play in the mainland U.S.. I would love the experience of living away from Hawaii, and in general experiencing something new and different than what I grew up in. I believe the combination of my current upbringing and new experiences will make me a better rounded adult in the future. Aside from wanting to continue playing a competitive sport, I want to play college soccer because I want to make my family proud, most especially my parents. They've worked hard for me to play soccer, and I feel that I should return the favor and make them proud. Also, I have 2 younger brothers. I want to be a strong role model for them, showing them that commitment and hard work are important life skills. I believe by continuing soccer at the collegiate level shows my siblings and family that by continuing to do hard work results in achieving goals and dreams. Overall, I value my academics. I set high expectations of myself. I always put extra effort, and do my best to produce quality work. My coaches have always said I am a "student athlete", with an emphasis on "student". I believe maintaining good grades, supports a good collegiate soccer career, as well as being a good athlete.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
