I am excited to announce that I have committed to continue my academic and athletic career at Bethel University (IN) this fall!

FEARLESS, DETERMINED, COACHABLE My name is Lauren Gatewood. I am a senior goalkeeper for Indy Genesis and Columbus Express. I began playing competitive soccer at age 11 and have been the starting varsity goalkeeper for the last 4 years. I was named to the Homeschool All-National Team in 2021, and team captain this season. My coach describes me as having... quick hands, good technique, and natural instincts. I always aim to give 100% and lead by example. During the past couple of years, I have enhanced my skills during the offseason with training at the Schaeper Goalkeeping Camp and Bright Lights Goalkeeping.
Besides soccer, my extracurriculars include piano, handbell and vocal choir, 4-H, student leadership council, and my church worship band.
Academics are also very important to me as demonstrated by my honors courses, 4.0 GPA, and membership in the National Society of High School Scholars. Right now, I plan to major in chemistry.
I am looking forward to the opportunity to play the game I love at the next level!
