Personal Statement
Joining the U19s National Performance League with my club this year has been a big step for my teammates and I. Being made captain by my coaches has put even more pressure on me, as I’ve had the responsibility of leading my team against the best soccer players in our age group in Scotland. However, so far it’s been the most enjoyable year of soccer I’ve played to date. The technically difficult and hard-fought nature of each weekend’s game continually pushes me to be better than I was the previous week, and I love being challenged. I’ve improved significantly this season, in terms of leadership, communication skills, technical play and tactical awareness.I’m now seeking an opportunity to join a soccer program that will provide the necessary challenges to take my game to the next level, for the good of both the team and my long-term ambition of playing professionally after college. In addition to soccer, mathematics is also a burning passion of mine, which I want to study and pursue to the very highest level. I want to attend a college that will really challenge me academically, and which will enable me to earn a world class education. As a straight A* student with a very hectic schedule, I’m confident I will fit into the role of a college-level student-athlete quickly and easily. I’m hungry for the exciting challenges ahead!
