Personal Statement
Hi coaches, my name is Agustina Sapena, and I’m from Asuncion, Paraguay. I started playing soccer in 5th grade as a defender.I’ve been enamored with the game since I first walked onto the field. I am now a Junior in high school, playing on my 3rd year in The American School of Asuncion's Varsity team. My ambition to compete as a college-athlete studying abroad has deepened immensely, and I’ve realized how much perseverance, sacrifice and determination I required to reach my goal. So far, I have been giving it my all in order to reach this ambitious objective, and intend to keep doing so in all aspects of my life.
I’d say my strongest assets in the field are my speed, conditioning, and play-making. In addition, I’m a natural leader, who serves as a role model, and tries to bring the best energy into the field, and onto others. I am very easygoing and have no trouble getting along with new teammates, or coaches. Also, I am very flexible as to where I stand in the field, and have played as a back, midfielder and forward on multiple occasions successfully. My disposition lends itself to being easily coached, and I desire to continue growing as an athlete, student, and person. . Academically, I’ve been able to attain a GPA of around 3.75, thanks to my dedication and constant strive. I’m expecting to continue doing so in college, and become the best version of myself, athletically, academically and socially.
I’m looking forward to bringing my culture and athletic enthusiasm to whichever college I attend.
