Personal Statement
My name is Danielle Rotenberg, and I am a 21-year-old living in Nottingham, UK and Bangkok, Thailand. I am about to complete my bachelor BS Honors in the U of Nottingham. As for my football, I have had the honor to represent my school varsity team since I was 11 years old. Aside from football which I have been playing since I was 5 years old, I have been practicing taekwondo and earned my black belt at the age of 11. Yet my focus was on developing my football skills, in which I was awarded countless trophies, MVPs, and other recognition, such as junior/senior sports girl of the year and so on. I have always really connected to this great multi skilled sport and team working game. Therefore, at the age of 12, I started taking football to the next level. This was a life-changing decision. From that age I have been focusing on perusing my goals to being best at what I do in parallel to my studies. At the age of 13 I was invited to play with the U-16 Israeli national team under a special authorization from UEFA. I was the youngest ever to play as a part of the Israeli team, in the euro qualifications of 2015. It allowed me to witness how all the hard work and dedication was glued together. In the past few years, I committed myself to playing with the national team whenever they require my attendance. So far, I have 16 international appearances against various European national teams. Staring in 2017 I have joined Chonburi FC, the Thai National Women League champion. I have trained and played with Chonburi FC for 2 years. In 2019 I joined BSL WFC which is the first and only international football team in the Thai League. I was appointed as the team captain and in 2020/2021 led them into the second season, which have allowed to club to become an official member of the National Thai Women League. During COVID time I was recovering from an injury and moved to the UK to pursue my Bachelor Honor Degree at the University of Nottingham. Unfortunately, my rehab time extended beyond my original plans. In December 2022 I was recruited by BSL WFC in Thailand, with the aim to join the second leg games in June and July 2023. In the past few month, I mostly focused on individual training.
I am a very passionate, committed, hardworking midfielder with a very strong work ethic. I am a player that coaches rely on. I am a player with a talent to play anywhere on the pitch. I am equally talented on both feet, which easily allows me to play both sides of the pitch. I am a very intelligent player, and I can contribute and shape any team I play. I am creative and can send correctly through balls and switch play when needed. I am a leader on and outside the pitch. My talent to understand the game enables me to follow coach’s instructions with ease. My social skills allow me to interact with my teammates properly inside and outside the pitch.
I believe that my football skills as well as my experience at semi and professional teams, along with playing in the UK at various conditions will allow me to pursue a spot in a professional and competitive football team. I am certain that with the unique combination of international experience, attitude, talents, and skills would be an asset to any team that I will be a part of.
