Personal Statement
Hello Coaches! I'm Yana Gandhi, part of the graduating class of 2025. I am originally from India, but have been raised in Bangkok, Thailand, where I currently reside. Attending the International Community School in Bangkok, I proudly serve as the starting Goalkeeper for both my school's varsity and travel teams.
Although my primary position is Goalkeeper, this year, I've embraced the challenge of playing predominantly as a forward. Despite this shift, I've remained dedicated to honing my skills through rigorous goalkeeper training sessions. This commitment has been particularly significant as our current goalkeeper is a senior, rightfully receiving priority playtime.
My journey into competitive football may be relatively recent ( I started playing in 10th grade) , but my love for the sport runs deep. Introduced to various activities by my parents at a young age, ranging from basketball to competitive Garba dancing and gymnastics, soccer has always held a special place in my heart. The adrenaline and sheer joy I feel on the field are unparalleled, creating unforgettable moments with every game.
Despite my limited experience in the sport, I firmly believe that my unwavering passion and drive to improve will propel me forward. Committed to continuous growth and learning, both on the field and in all facets of life, I strive to evolve into the best version of myself. Moreover, my recent introduction to the sport offers a unique advantage; I possess the adaptability to swiftly acquire new skills and rapidly catch up to my peers.
