Personal Statement
My name is Isabella Marie Escobar Su, and I am currently a sophomore at John F. Kennedy High School on Guam. Soccer has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started playing at the age of seven, and over the years, it has grown from a childhood hobby into a true passion that drives me every day.
Growing up in a small but tight-knit community on Guam, I’ve had the chance to play soccer in various settings; whether it’s under the bright lights of a competitive match or on a rainy day with my team. These experiences have shaped my love for the game and taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance, and the power of teamwork.
On the field, I’m known for my determination and ability to stay focused even in challenging situations. I’ve always believed that every practice, every game, and every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow. I pride myself on being a team player, always supporting my teammates and pushing myself to give 110% in everything I do. Soccer has also taught me the importance of leadership, and I’ve had the privilege of helping guide my team through tough matches and motivating them to reach our shared goals.
Beyond soccer, I’m dedicated to my academics and other extracurricular activities, but it’s on the field where I feel most at home. My dream is to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level, where I can challenge myself against higher levels of competition, learn from experienced coaches, and contribute to a team that shares my passion for the game.
