Personal Statement
Sports have played an important role in my life. I've been riding a bike, running and skiing since I was a kid thanks to my sports-loving family. Nevertheless, soccer has always been my priority and my passion since childhood. I first started playing competitive soccer when I was 5, and ever since then soccer has owned a unique place in my heart. I could say that I am an all-sports lover, but I am especially passionate about soccer. Thanks to my athletic parents, who have implemented me the sports values, I am the person and athlete that I am today. Soccer, besides being my passion, has also taught me important values of discipline, teamwork, hard work, respect and ambition, which I have been able to employ in different aspects of my life.
Throughout my soccer career, I have played in 5 different competitive clubs here in Spain. My biggest achievements have been to sign for F.C.Barcelona for 3 years, one of the best youth teams in Spain, winning three times the U15 regional championship and being named captain in the last season, and having participated with the regional team in the Nationals, getting the 3rd place. At the moment I am playing for C.F.Damm, one of the best U19 teams of the region and actual Regional champions.
I want to continue my soccer and academic career at college level, where I am looking forward to grow as a person, student and player. My dream is to come to college in the USA and be on the roster as a midfielder and study my career interests, as I think studying and playing at collegiate level would be a lifetime experience. Academically, I am planning to study a major related to economics and business, as I am really interested in with the global economy, how countries develop and the daily news associated with worldwide economy.
I am a really enthusiastic student athlete ready to devote everything for the team, spread positive energy and contribute with my leadership, as well as to receive constructive criticism. Being the captain of my team has taught me to lead by example, put others' nedds first and have self confidence, and not only strive to better myself every day, but my teammates as well, and that's all I can offer as a born leader.
