Personal Statement
My name is Daniella Gómez and I have been playing soccer since the age of 5. As a young girl, soccer was nothing more than a mere form of exercise to stay in shape, but as I got older I fell in love with the sport.
When I was 13, I started to seriously consider the possibility of playing soccer at a higher level, so I decided to take a step towards my goal by trying out for the national team of my country. When I made the team and traveled for the first time, I was completely and absolutely certain that this was what I wanted to do.
Soccer has taught me discipline, self-control, perseverance, teamwork , and how not the be a sore loser. My positive and determined personality are good traits for any team as it will empower and support my fellow teammates. I am a quick learner, open to criticism, and will readily fix my mistakes.
As my coaches have always taught me, “Academics comes before athletics.” While I was in private school, I was always at the top of my class, but even now as I am homeschooled, I maintain a high GPA and will be graduating at the age of 16. Even though I am young, my age shouldn’t be a concern as I am mature and fully capable.
In college, I hope to continue my musical career whilst maintaining good grades and playing soccer, as all three are extremely important to me.
Thank you for your time.
