Personal Statement
Having been called up to play for the High School Varsity Team in Dubai as a freshman, and winning the MVP award was definitely the highlight of my year, especially since I just moved from Singapore. However, despite starting a new soccer career in Dubai, and pressing the one in Singapore on pause, my growth and improvement over the past 6 months in this new country have been where I, as a student-athlete have grown the most. Over the years, I have gone through many sports; golf, tennis, dance, polo, basketball, swimming, and of course, soccer. All of these sports have helped me develop the physique, strength, aggression, skill, mental game, and knowledge that I need for my future. Out of all of these sports, soccer has been the one to stick by my side, and the one I plan to play until I can no longer. I am fortunate enough to be part of the elite squad in a club called Empire, one of the best team in the country, winning 1st in; Mina Cup, DOFA competition, and multiple times for the Womens Football League (WFL). All of these experiences have helped me grow as a person, and made me realize some crucial priorities I have. Moreover, despite not winning the 2023 MESAC with my school soccer team, I learned about teamwork, commitment, leadership, and perseverance. I am looking for a program that will suit my needs athletically and academically. I believe to have the worth ethic and characteristics to impact a school with a high academic competition level, as well as the talent and skill needed to play soccer at a high level. I told my friend I would join her in the United States National Team, and I plan to make that goal come true. I know I have what it takes to have an effect on your team.
