Personal Statement
I started playing football when I was only seven years old. As I have
moved around from an early age, I have played football in a myriad of
school and club teams in all the countries I have lived in and the
schools I have enrolled at. This ultimately allowed me to experience
multiple playing styles, develop new skills, and learn from a wide
range of teammates; which made me into a more well-rounded and
versatile player. I have had the opportunity to compete in many
international and local competitions with my school team, as well as
my club team; namely the Mediterranean Cup in Verona, Italy. Moreover,
participating in other competitive sports such as Track and Cross
Country have improved my fitness level and helped me become a stronger
player and a better athlete overall.
I am currently in 11th grade at Dubai International Academy, an
International Baccalaureate school. I have been enrolled in the IB
curriculum for over seven years, with a strong academic record and the
benefit from the curriculum’s emphasis on developing students with
social characteristics and rigorous work ethics.
Football has taught me skills such as discipline and communication,
and it has helped me overcome my shy nature and become more outgoing.
Playing on multiple teams and experiencing multiple playing positions,
I adapted to be a versatile player and work well within a team. I am a
very committed and enthusiastic student-athlete, ready to do my best
in any situation, as well as to receive constructive criticism and
continue to grow as a player.
