Personal Statement

Kia Ora, my name is Aaliyah,

I'm from Auckland New Zealand and it is my dream to go to the US for university. I am currently about to turn 17 and in Year 12 (Junior year) at high school. I have been playing competitively in the woman's team at my club since I was 14 and I am in my schools First Team Squad. For Club, my team is at the top of the league, we are in the conference league which is in the Top 3 in Auckland. I am very keen to go to America for University (Once I graduate in December 2025) because I love the environment and culture that I have seen America possess. I also lived in Thailand for 5 years (from 8-13 years old) so I have an urge to travel, meet new people and experience new cultures. I am currently doing the International Baccalaureate (IB) course and have got various awards for my academic excellence (such as scholars award, top 15 in my year group and have always been in the advanced classes throughout my high school years). I maintain a 3.7 GPA and have chosen to do the IB instead of NCEA, which is the New Zealand standard, as the IB is academically more difficult and will challenge me more). My goal is to play football (soccer) in University as it is my passion, then to become a Vet.

I would be a good candidate for your team as I am positive, uplifting but I am also competitive (I'm left footed too). If you choose me just know that you will have someone who is committed, I will arrive early and stay late as I am eager to improve and be the best I can be. I never give up and will always do my best to win the ball back. I'm fast, aggressive, patient and have a good understanding of the game. I won Player of the Year for my club team in my 2023 season and also won Best Team Spirit 2023 as well.  I'm different from the rest as not only do I enjoy my sport, but I am also academic, I love to learn and want to do a degree that challenges me, I strive to be the best that I can in all areas and will push myself in every aspect to achieve this. I play both Left Center Back and Left Back, and will shortly be uploading videos of me playing. I hope I impress you.

My email is [email protected] if you want to get in contact with me.
