Personal Statement
Hi - my name is Georgia Robinson and I live in the UK. I am very interested in studying for my degree in the US and would love to be able to play soccer.
I have played soccer from the age of 4, when I played grassroots football with boys at home in Kent, England. I also played for my junior school and was Sports Captain in my final year. At the age of 8 I was scouted by Charlton Athletic Women's FC, where I played five consecutive seasons as a starting player including two seasons as Captain. At the same time I played for West Kent District for 6 seasons where I Captained the squad to three years of back to back league wins, including reaching the national semi-finals on two occasions. I currently play for King's Hill JPL Warriors (2 seasons) in the UK's Junior Premier League where we play in the highest division (Red) having been promoted to this league just before Christmas 2023. In addition, at King's Hill I have been frequently chosen to play up from the U15 to the U18 squad when necessary to support key matches. I love my football, am passionate about my physical and mental health and work hard to balance my sporting life with a strong academic performance.
I attend one of the UK's highest performing selective grammar schools, having been awarded a Governor's Place at the school as a result of my high scores in the UK 11+ academic selection tests. At school I am studying 10 subjects to GCSE higher level and am in the top sets for all subjects. I particularly enjoy my sciences (biology, physics and chemistry) as well as the Humanities (History, English and Geography). I also play sport at school including football, field hockey and, in the summer, track and field where I love to run both the 200m and the 400m.
I have long admired the US and believe that the balance of scholastic endeavour and sporting opportunities would particularly suit me and my capabilities. I think I can offer a US university a strong combination of academic and sporting prowess, gained in some of the UK's most challenging environments.
