Personal Statement
I have played soccer at Grass Roots level since the age of 6, however only started playing competitive soccer (female) in 2014. Since then, I have progressed from squad player at a local club side (Worcester City) and bit part player for my County Select side (Worcestershire) to English Academy football with West Bromwich Albion and a role as a captain for the Worcestershire County select side and finally to international representative selection with England Colleges (U18). With Worcestershire, I have played a key role in three (2015, 2016 and 2017) Gothia Word Youth Cup events in Sweden (in 2017 I captained the team to success in the U15 category) and also the Disney Soccer Showcase event in 2017 (playing at Under 17). I also managed to get through the England Schools U15 trials process to the final 60, only to lose out due to an early injury in the final trial match. In Oct 2017 I was selected by the English FA to train with the England U16 squad as part of a regional development programme. More recently, I have been selected for the England Colleges FA U18 squad for the 2018/19 season. My development path has been extremely rapid and I fully intend to continue this.
I also recognise the importance of life outside sport, hence my desire to combine a high quality education with the sport I love is my main goal. A college career in the US is my preferred route to achieving these goals. I have a desire to focus my studies around sport/healthcare although I also have a desire to harness my strong communication skills. At High School, I have been selected to participate in a Young Leaders program, where I am involved in local community projects and organising and officiating at sporting events for primary schools in the local area.
