Personal Statement
My dream is to play soccer at College and then at the Professional level in the US (I have both US and Australian citizenship). I started playing soccer at the age of 5 after seeing my older sister play and wanting to follow in her footsteps. Since then I have had a passion to push myself and take my game to the next level. As I progressed over time from local teams to my varsity team and the Manly United National Premier League Club team in Australia, I have learnt the importance of being in a team environment and always having a willingness to learn. This has given me the confidence to step up and show leadership. I have not only carried these skills throughout my athletic career, but through my life experiences as well.
A highlight of my soccer career so far was earning the Golden Boot Award for the most goals scored last season in 2020 and for the entire club in 2019 (which had 7 women's premiere teams). In addition I am proud of my 2018 team being runner’s up, tying in extra time and unfortunately losing during the penalty shoot out. Even though we didn’t win the Championship game, it was a key learning experience, teaching me resilience and providing me with an additional drive to do that much better in following seasons. I hope to find a College Program and an Inspirational Coach that will encourage and stretch me to the next level and a group of teammates that will create incredible college memories with. I look forward to developing both athletically and academically, as I know that I have the ability to compete at the collegiate level and I have a strong desire to graduate from US college given I have US citizenship.
From an academic perspective, I am the 2021 College Captain for Stella Maris in Manly on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, which means that I will be leading around 1000 girls over the next year including community projects. As a Senior I am taking a range of high level classes as I believe that learning and earning an education is also an important part of my journey. In the state of NSW, I also scored a 93.85 on the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) which ranks me in the top 6% of students across all academic areas in the state. I am hoping to attend a University that also has a strong focus on acadmics and learning both on and off the field.
