Personal Statement
My name is Jacquelline Kambere,
I first fell in love with the game at the age of seven and have never had a session off. During my time I’ve been fortunate enough to be trained by a wide range of coaches who have taught me many different lessons on the game although one thing that they all seem to share with me was that I am both very hard working and simply coachable, which I believe is crucial in order to improve. During the off season, I like to make sure that I am staying fit and active ready for the following season, in order to do so I create my own fitness and running sessions while participating in a local weekly summer six-a-side competition. In high school, I made sure I was participating in as many clubs and sporting teams as I could. From track and field to swimming in pools, with the support of my family, I was able to highly compete in it all and receive multiple aged champion trophies along the way. In year ten I was fortunate enough to be selected to compete in The Joeys Mini World Cup tournament which took place around Europe mainly Germany and returning from that I was then asked to join the Eastern Suburbs WNPL (Women's National Premier League) team, due to the death of an immediate family member, unfortunately, I had to pass up the offer. No matter what sports I play I like to make sure that I am fully involved with the team and listen to what they have to say and provided input when needed, I like to think that I have leadership experience from over the years as I was voted captain the last three years of high school for our indoor soccer team where on two occasions we made it to nationals. I was also voted sports and captain of our outdoor soccer team during my senior year. My mother has always taught me that I have got to work to succeed in life and that nothing worth having comes easily, which means putting in the extra work and effort needed to make myself a better individual both on and off the field. I am searching for a school where I can earn the opportunity to excel athletically and academically, I look forward to what's to come and believe that I will meet every challenge with confidence and passion.
