Personal Statement
Soccer has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, I cannot even state the exact age I started playing the sport because of my passion that has existed for it throughout the years. As I progress through my life as a player and a person I have dedicated my life to only getting better on and off the pitch.
I am confident to say that I am a dedicated player and I am a good team player. I possess the communication, leadership and problem solving skills required to play the game. I have also exercised said qualities in my captaincy of the various girls teams that I have been part of Including captaining the girls team on my upcoming final year of High School. I have played all through primary to Junior School, my Middle Years Programme and finally in my IB Diploma years. This proves my dedication to the sport as I have grown up playing in school and also joined an external soccer club to further my skills as a player.
This has of course not hindered my academic journey, I have adopted the skills to balance both my sport and my school work. I have a good academic performance and have received awards in my Middle Years Programme for Very Good performance and being among those that topped the class. I continue to showcase good academic performance in my Diploma years averaging a grade of 6 out of 7 in all my subjects.
Not only do I participate in sports but I am also an active part of the school choir, take part in the basketball team to further improve my athletic performance, and do various volunteer jobs in school to run events like our schools cultural celebrations and peace conference. I was also a competitive swimmer for a significant amount of time in my Middle Years further proving my athletic versatility.
I am interested in playing soccer at the university level because it comes with a big opportunity to gain support and meet people from a new place. I get to do what I love, which is playing football and I get the support system I need to continue with my academics at the same time.
I look forward to playing at a collegiate level.
