Personal Statement
I love football. I’ve been playing soccer from the tender age of 5, started as a goalkeeper, and gradually moved upwards till I found my fit in attacking midfield and strike.
I can be physical while playing, I learned that when I was playing in a local boys club where I was the only girl so I had to be tuff. Apart from my physicality, my other strengths are position versatility since I’ve played in almost every position on the pitch and I’m comfortable with both feet, terrific ball control due to my background in soccer freestyling (@14thgunner), I work really well in tight spaces and can dribble out of them, I often intercept plays since I visualise them before they happen whether it’s an attack or when we are defending. I’m an empathetic leader on and off the pitch who believes in kaizen, continuous improvement. I take free kicks, penalties, and corners for my team.
Other than soccer, I mainly play badminton and basketball. Badminton has really helped me with my agility, quick reflexes, and medium-term endurance. Basketball has taught me self discipline, teamwork and agility.
I’m looking for a team that will be my second family and that supports and encourages each other to do the best one can. I know being an international student from Kenya will surely not be easy so feeling at home or even having a team I could call my family would truly help me adjust to the new life.
Outside of soccer, I plan on studying aerospace/computer/robotics engineering. I’m a huge Gunner, Arsenal fan, from birth and will always be! I’m also a curious person that you’ll probably find learning more about outer space, different cultures and languages or watching Marvel and researching sci-fi theories.
Note: The two mile time stats on my profile are incorrect.
