Zara Ryan '26 Recruiting Profile

I’m a dedicated student-athlete at a top-10 academic school in my state, graduating in November 2025 with all A’s and an estimated 3.6 GPA. I’m on a general excellence scholarship for football and aim to compete at the Division 1 level, while staying open to strong programs that support both academic and athletic development.

Currently, I play for Gold Coast United in the U23 NPL, the highest level in my state. I'm a very technical player—ambidextrous, confident with both feet, and comfortable using my weaker foot under pressure. I thrive as an attacking midfielder but am versatile across the midfield, full back, and attacking lines. I read the game well, scan constantly, and create space with intelligent movement, sharp decision-making, and a clean first touch.

Growing up playing street football in South Africa developed my composure, quick thinking, and ability to operate in tight spaces. At 5'9", I offer a strong work rate, physicality, and defensive effort. Debuting in the 3rd division at 14 and training with elite boys’ academies each offseason has shaped my adaptability and competitive edge.

I’ll be competing in the Surf Cup this November, and I’m excited to bring my skill, discipline, and creativity to a high-performance environment.
