Personal Statement
My name is Liah-Rae Tucker, I am from Nassau, Bahamas. I am 17 years old and I attend Saint Augustine’s College, which is a high school located here. My goal is to be able to secure a scholarship to obtain tertiary education on the merit of stellar academic performance, community involvement, and athletic prowess.
I seek to develop my soccer to a higher level that demands more of me. I strive to do my best in all that I endeavor - academically, athletically, and socially. While self-improvement is important to me, I also seek to support and encourage others. Futhermore, I believe it is my responsibility to positively contribute to my community which I do through membership of my school’s Student Council, Club and Senior Girls Soccer Team. As captain of my club and senior girls soccer team, I am developing my leadership skills inclusive of organization and flexibility. I aspire to be recruited by a tertiary institution with rigorous academic and athletic programs to be able to exploit all my skills and above all to discover new fields that provide experiences. I hope to develop soccer skills to perform at maximum ability, both locally and internationally, representing my school and country well.
I am a dedicated, tenacious, and optimistic individual who aspires to be recruited by a college that will lead me to become the best version of myself .From the age of four when I played soccer for the first time, it was something I enjoyed and have continued ever since. Soccer has become one of my essential activities and has helped to mold the person I am today.
It has taught me leadership skills, teamwork, how to be respectful, develop quick decision making and setting goals. I would love to be a part of the U17, U20 and Women’s National team here in the Bahamas. I know it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but I am willing to fight for this opportunity.
