Personal Statement
I became interested in playing soccer when I saw my father playing; seeing him play gave me the interest and confidence to start playing. I feel like I’ve grown every year playing, and take criticism as a way to improve. Alberta Provincials 2014 was the highlight of my soccer years. That experience helped me become the player I am today. It shows how I’ve improved as a person and rethought my effort and values.
An obstacle I had to overcome was having a concussion. One important thing I learned from playing soccer is to never give up even when I’m at my lowest. It took me a month to recover but I continued to play strong. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for an athletic drive and my academics. As a three-sport athlete, I know I have what it takes to bring energy and show my determination on your team.
Every year I get the opportunity to travel abroad to play soccer with my school the event is called SAISA. SAISA is an International school tournament where 7 different schools participate. Last spring we went to Mumbai, India and came first, my team won 6 games and lost 1. In the final match, our goalie stopped all the balls and I scored the winning goal.
During an important match to get us to finals, I scored 6 goals in that game. That is the most goals ever scored in a game before. I also beat the SAISA record for the most goals scored in a tournament of both boys and girls football. I scored around 21 goals in total in the 2016 SAISA tournament.
