Personal Statement
Soccer has been a part of me since the age of 6. Many people thought what i had was pure natural talent because they only focused on the outcomes and the results instead of looking at hard work behind every shot, every pass, and every tackle . My work ethic is personally what differentiates me from my peers. The countless hours of effort, sacrifice, discipline and hard work is what helped me develop and grow as i took a step closer to my dream. If you are stronger than me, i'll start going to the gym, if you are faster than me, i'll start athletics, if you are better than me, i'll simply put in twice as much work. You may say am just listing all those things to look good but that's what I've done. And today i can proudly say that i might be the first Mauritian female soccer player to get a professional contract in France.
I have a strong right foot but am also not scared to use the left. I talk a lot on the field whether it is to encourage or guide but i am very quiet outside. i like to believe i have a good endurance and speed but when i play against the boys it is a level harder. The skills I've worked for has helped me join the National team at 11 years old but unfortunately due to my age and COVID i could only start competing internationally at the age of 15.
Academically speaking, i might not be the smartest in my class but i have the determination to come at their level or even more. The balance i set between sports and education has helped me improve my grades throughout the year where when i look back i understand that it was hard but all worth it. I try to also be a part of school committees for example Bigs and Littles (where i help those who just joined the school for better adaptation and guide, events organization (international night where we have a show for every continent and culture) and many more.
I want to attend a good college as i think it will help me develop and grow even more as i slowly go into adulthood. But most importantly i want to make my parents, family, friends and those who believed in me proud.
