Personal Statement

I am a determined and committed goalkeeper from Australia with great leadership qualities and exceptional academics which would be an asset to any team. This is exemplified by me earning the title of “Year 8 Dux”, “Year 9 Dux” and "Year 10 Dux" in 2017, 2018 and 2019 as a full tuition academic scholarship recipient at one of the most highly regarded private girl’s schools in South Australia. I am highly disciplined through years of experience and private coaching. Though on paper I am relatively short for a goalkeeper my impeccable technique, leg strength, detailed and intuitive knowledge of gameplay strategy and no-fear attitude more than make up for my height on the field. I have competed for over 7 years at a school and club level as well as representing the state of South Australia at the Christian Football National Titles. Here I have captained the under 16 team and in 2017 and 2018 I won back-to-back “Golden Gloves” awards for being the best under 16 girl’s goalkeeper in Australia. In addition to this, in 2018 I won “Most Valuable Player” in both my high school First XI’s regular season and intercollegiate cup as well as in my league and cup winning club under 15A’s team. I am best known for my direction and vision, supporting my teammates from the back. I have continued this form in 2019, by winning "Best and Fairest Player" in my club under 17A's team, and in 2020, by winning "Players' Player" at both club and school level. In addition my leadership is recognised by the student-body where I have been elected as "Middle School Captain" and "Clan Representative". I currently serve my school as "Deputy Head Girl". I hope to bring my unique skill set to a college which will assist my player and character development as well as set me up for a lifelong academic career, all while enjoying the world-class facilities of a US college. Thank you for your consideration.
