Personal Statement
I believe that I strive and push myself to the best of my abilities to achieve a high level of success. This high standard I set for myself both athletically and academically is very important to me. I believe by attending a college/university in America I will be able to continue to focus on both my soccer and academic studies at a high standard. I am currently interested in studying a major in the medical or sports science field such as Physical Therapy and Nursing.
I understand the importance of studying and the vital role it plays in my soccer career. I enjoy school and have always been a confident, happy and high achieving student. I am very focused on achieving excellent results.
I am a tenacious and unforgiving defender. I have the ability to comprehensively stop larger and fleet players. I am able to anticipate the tactics by the opposition and able to think which strategies to apply during the game. I have accurate and solid ball control and passing technique. I believe i am most comfortable and competitive when I am challenged.
My strengths are tackling, leadership, competitiveness and ability (intelligence) to read the game. I am very competitive, aggressive, driven and ready for action. I have a great hunger for the ball with a never give-up attitude, always playing to win. Knowing how to read the game enables me to position myself to make the best possible play and to join the attack. I am extremely quick on feet and can hold my ground.
I am very independent which gives me great self-confidence in any activity that I perform. I am a very diverse athlete playing several sports such as Soccer, Middle Distance Running, Netball, Tennis and Volleyball. I am naturally very fit and physically strong with excellent stamina and endurance.
As Captain of many of my School, Club and State Soccer Teams, I can confidently give directions while supporting and encouraging my teammates to play to the best of their abilities. As a Captain I can rapidly adapt playing strategy to meet the needs of the game, directing and inspiring my teammates. I am fully focused, enthusiastic and 100% dedicated to my team.
The amount of effort, positive attitude and dedication that I bring to both my studies and soccer field is demonstrated everyday. My experience, commitment and strong training ethic will be an asset to any college coach and team. I am ready to dedicate myself to make the very best of my college experience.
