Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since I was seven years old. I have played for the American Youth Soccer Association in New York and Hawaii, a club team in the Hawaii Youth Soccer Association, and at the varsity level since my freshman year of high school. In my freshman year, I was part of the James Campbell High School women's soccer team that won third place for our division in the Hawaii state championships. During my sophomore year I helped the Rota High School team win 1st place in the DODDS D-IV European Soccer Championships in Ramstein, Germany; the first year the Rota High School fielded a women's soccer team. I scored one of the two goals that were made in the championship game. I was also on the All Tournament team in D-IV. During my junior year I scored the winning goal that helped us win DODDS D-III European Soccer Championships in Ramstein, Germany. I also made the D-III All tournament team and the Region I - All Region 2nd team. I am also a starting player for the Rota Naval Base women's soccer team. In June, 2010, we traveled to Valencia, Spain, and took third place in a tournament against other Spanish women's soccer teams.
I can offer an immense amount of great things to any team. I have a huge amount of passion and dedication for the sport of soccer. I rarely miss a practice and I'm usually always the first one on the field and the last to leave. I take any constructive criticism that any coach gives me and turn it into positive results. I love learning new things and I'm always trying to improve my skills. I was team captain my junior year (2010). I have learned a lot being from being captain. I've learned that not everyone is going to want to listen to you or even like you; however you just have to deal with it and turn it into something positive. I am a very hard worker in school and on the soccer field. In school, I do everything that I possibly can to keep my grades up. When we go on sports trips to Germany and England I try to get all my homework that I will be missing while I am gone.
I would love to go to school somewhere on the east coast. I'm keeping my options open however. I intend to major in Criminal Justice. It would be great to make an immediate and positive impact on the team as a freshman. Thank you for taking the time to view my NCSA profile.
